Anita Roberts

Anita is a professional writer, project manager and network facilitator who has worked in the vocational education and training system at a national level since 1995 – with a particular focus on foundation and employability skills. She contributed to the development and implementation of the National Reporting System for Language, Literacy and Numeracy (pre-cursor to the Australian Core Skills Framework) in 1995-96 prior to joining the Australian National Training Authority (ANTA). Her work has included establishing the ‘built in not bolted on’ policy approach to including language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) in training packages, developing the Foundation Skills Training Package and co-ordinating workforce development projects to support the Foundation Skills Strategy for Adults.

Since leaving ANTA in 2004, Anita has provided consultancy services within the VET sector encompassing policy advice, instructional design, stakeholder consultation, network facilitation and professional writing and editing. She has worked as a special advisor and instructional designer for Innovation and Business Skills Australia (IBSA) and has led initiatives for TAFE SA, AiGroup and Skills Impact. Anita’s ability to bring together diverse stakeholders and synthesise disparate perspectives into cohesive written documents has contributed to projects in training package development and review, VET professional development, work readiness, qualification design, career education, innovation, automation and environmental sustainability.
